Man charged with fourth OUI
Friday, 17 April 2009 08:41

A Rockland man faces his fourth OUI charge after an arrest  last Thursday in Pembroke.

Robert M. Fulton, 51, of Rockland was pulled over around 6:20 p.m. Thursday, April 9 on Littles Avenue after a cell phone caller following a truck reported the driver had crossed over the center line several times. An officer found the vehicle on Oldham Street and pulled him over on Littles Avenue.

During the arrest, the officer discovered Fulton had been found guilty of three prior OUI offenses, in 1984, 1992 and 1997, according to the police report. He was charged with OUI fourth offense and released that evening on $500 posted bail.

Fulton pled not guilty in Plymouth District Court on Friday, April 10. He is due back in court on May 28 for a pretrial hearing.

If convicted, Fulton faces 2 to 2 1/2 years in prison with no suspended sentence or probation until 12 months are served, $1,500-$25,000 in fines and could have his license revoked for 10 years.
