Transmission shop owner charged with drug trafficking
Thursday, 04 February 2010 11:37

A local transmission shop owner and a Pembroke man pled not guilty last week to drug trafficking after police seized more than 110 oxycodone pills during a search of the shop.

Jason M. Parker, 35, of Hanson, owner of JP Transmissions on Mattakeesett Street, and David M. Hall, 35, of Plymouth Street, Pembroke, both face charges of heroin/opium trafficking, possession and possession to distribute a Class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws. They were arraigned Jan. 27 in Plymouth District Court and are due back on March 15 for a pretrial hearing.

As part of an ongoing investigation into local drug trafficking, the Old Colony Anti-Crime Task Force — including officers from Pembroke, Hanson and other area towns —executed a search warrant for Parker’s shop, home, vehicle and person on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Officers entered the shop shortly after 1 p.m., reportedly interrupting a transaction between Parker and Hall, who allegedly threw something into a trash barrel when police entered the shop.

Officers later recovered a bag containing 96 30-mg. oxycodone pills from the trash. Other items seized included 19 oxycodone pills and $1,900 in cash found on Hall’s person; $117 in cash, two oxycodone pills and a cuff sheet found in Parker’s pocket; and five cell phones found in the officer and in Hall’s vehicle, according to reports.

Police seized a total of 15 grams of oxycodone, a derivative of opium.
