A Pembroke man pled not guilty on Monday to writing more than $750 in bad checks to buy groceries and gift cards at Roche Brothers Supermarket in Marshfield. Shawn R. Fahey, 34, of Wampatuck Street faces one charge of larceny over $250 in the theft, which allegedly occurred over a five-day period in October 2008. He was in court Monday to remove a default warrant and is due back for a pretrial hearing on April 6. According to police reports, when Roche Brothers attempted to deposit the checks, they were told by the bank that there was no account matching the checks. Fahey also was in court to remove a default warrant in a separate 2008 case, in which he allegedly wrote $410 in bad checks to the Hanson Athletic Association. He faces six charges of larceny by check under $250 in that case. |
