Neighbors will have to wait another few weeks to find out what Department of Public Works commissioners plan to do with a town gravel pit on Monroe Street.
The day after the first big winter storm blew through Pembroke, selectmen discussed a freeze of another sort — the town-wide hiring freeze that remains officially in place despite being “thawed” several times.
A local woman who wants to see dogs banned from town cemeteries said she is willing to take the issue to Town Meeting voters if necessary.
MassHighway will hold a public hearing on the Route 14 reconstruction project on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Veterans Hall at Town Hall. The project includes widening the road, constructing sidewalks, drainage improvements and a new guardrail. Anyone who would like to comment on the project but is unable to attend the hearing can submit their comments to Frank A. Tramontozzi, P.E., Chief Engineer, Massachusetts Highway Dept., 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116. All written statements must be postmarked within 10 days of the hearing. |
