Pembroke Public Schools officials say they are doing their best to keep up with the latest health information in an effort to prepare for an onslaught of influenza this winter — swine and otherwise.

Pembroke High School students who are failing a course will have to stay off the field, court or stage until they bring up their grades, according to a rule the School Committee approved last week.

About three years after Superintendent Frank Hackett came to Pembroke, the school district is welcoming another Maine transplant to its administrative team, naming Dr. Catherine Glaude as the new principal at Bryantville Elementary School.
